DGSHAPE Corporation Launches DWX-53D: New Dry Dental Mill

DGSHAPE Corporation introduces the DWX-53D, the next-generation desktop dental dry milling device, designed to offer a more efficient, clean, and precise production experience for all dental applications.

Hamamatsu, Japan, October 1st, 2024 – DGSHAPE Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Roland DG Corporation and a leading provider of digital fabrication tools worldwide, today announced the release of the DWX-53D, its next-generation desktop dry dental milling device offering a more efficient, cleaner, and more precise production experience for all dental applications. The device features a new, more rigid design and an improved, user-friendly support experience through advanced Internet of Things (IoT) technology, DGSHAPE CLOUD.

The DWX-53D’s elegant new design offers twice the rigidity of our previous model. This robust desktop dental mill incorporates advanced features that enable the production of high-quality, extremely precise, and cost-effective dental restorations using PMMA, zirconia, and other CAD/CAM materials. With an upgraded clamp system that allows three different angles of adjustment, users can easily load and unload materials with one hand.

The DWX-53D also features a built-in camera, linking the device with DGSHAPE CLOUD support. Users can view live production from anywhere using a mobile phone or tablet. In addition, the camera provides recorded video, so users can troubleshoot their device and monitor maintenance activities. The included VPanel software has a new user interface allowing users to easily access settings, run updates when available, receive support, and manage maintenance, tools, and job queues. It also allows users to send their feedback directly to HQ Engineers and to receive product updates and other important notifications from DGSHAPE. A new automated cleaning process takes the work out of removing zirconia dust and waste from the device.

A stronger base and a more robust spindle allow quick and easy dental application milling. Users can apply a four-millimeter bur for faster roughing*. The DWX-53D allows users to quickly produce PMMA applications like dentures and partials with outstanding quality. In addition, DGSHAPE’s Milling Digital Denture Solution** “DK2-53,” and tools (ZRB/ZPB Series***) offer highly efficient and precise denture production.

***ZRB-200D and ZPB-100D/50D/30D are included with the DWX-53D.

Bundled with the DWX-53D are both standard and open-edge adapters. Users seeking to mill the facial anatomy of long-span bridge applications can do so with the newly designed open-edge adapter that features a full thirty-five-degree B-axis rotational angle.

“In addition to its sleek exterior redesign, the DWX-53D dry mill is layered with innovative technology. A series of improvements and new features make it even more user-friendly, efficient, and dependable,” said Junichi Toyama, DGSHAPE Corporation’s President of Operations. “Combined with DGSHAPE CLOUD, the DWX-53D also provides a uniquely comprehensive monitoring and support experience, which users can access from any device.”
